SF Judge Orders Broker Pay Over 6M In Restitution

(BCN) SAN FRANCISCO A former Modesto mortgage broker who was convicted of fraud has been ordered by a federal judge in San Francisco to pay East Bay and Central Valley homeowner victims a total of $6.7 million in restitution.U.S. District Judge William Alsup signed the restitution order for Tony Daniloo, 32, on Thursday after prosecution and defense lawyers filed a stipulation agreeing on the amount.A restitution hearing scheduled before Alsup for Tuesday was canceled as a result of the stipulation. Last month, Alsup sentenced Daniloo to nine years in prison. With credit for 18 months served in state custody on similar charges, Daniloos remaining prison term will be seven and one-half months. Daniloo, a Turlock resident, headed Dreamlife Financial in Modesto from 2003 until his arrest in 2004 and before that worked for a different mortgage broker in Dublin.
