Arts contributors earn Ovations for creating a richer community
A public-servant photographer, a storytelling historian and a provocative film series on 19th Street are among the recipients of the Allentown Arts Commission's 19th annual Arts Ovation awards.
Hub Willson (visual arts award) has been taking careful, insightful photographs of arts groups for three decades. His roster of clients is a local who's who: the Celtic Cultural Alliance, the Lehigh Valley Chamber Orchestra, the Repertory Dance Theatre, the City of Bethlehem's 250th anniversary committee. He's also a favorite of painters, sculptors and musicians. The latest CD featuring Jay Proctor, lead singer of Jay and the Techniques, has a cover photo by Willson, a busy drummer and pianist.
